Josh’s Frogs Microworm Panagrellus Culture (Panagrellus redivivus) is the perfect live food for many types of nano fish, baby axolotls (salamanders) and fish fry. The culture is considered to be the largest of the Panagrellus species. It’s an ideal nutritious meal for bottom feeders, such as Corydoras catfish, and a perfect size for the little ones in your aquarium. To culture microworms (nematodes), all you need is the starter culture, instant mashed potatoes or quick oats, yeast and a container. That’s it! Simply add several inches of quick oats or potato flakes to the container, add water (just enough to soak but not flood). Next, microwave the material for two minutes. Let this cool before taking a spoonful of the established microworm culture and placing it on top of the oats or potato flakes. Then sprinkle the culture with yeast and cover it. After that, don’t forget to poke some small holes in the cover so there is proper ventilation. In about one week, the worms should begin climbing the container sides. That’s when they are ready to be harvested.
