This freshwater aquarium softener can help reduce nitrite and nitrate production by removing ammonium in acidic water. It is suitable for use in large volume storage containers, dedicated media reactors, in-tank filters or canister filters.

For Use in a Canister Filters and Sumps:
Pour the desired amount of Total Softener into a 200 micron mesh media bag and close securely. Prior to use, rinse with RO/Di (reverse osmosis/deionized) or dechlorinated tap water to remove dust from storage and transport. Place into a canister filter as you would other filtration media. For use in a sump, place in an area with high flow and away from pump intake.

For Use in a Dedicated Media Reactor:
Ensure your reactor is appropriate for 300 micron resins. Add the desired amount of media to your reactor. Adjust flow to gently tumble the resin.
